the significance of tradition

i've nothing against tradition, but i didn't get much of it in my life.
nevertheless, living here in Hamburg for 16 years did have influence on me.
one of the very important things in the german culture, as well as in the europien culture is - tradition.
i find it fascinating watching and learning the different traditions, trying to understand, to follow the history and origins.
slowly but surely we developed our small traditions.
even religious holidays got their own little family tradition.
jewish new year, chanukah and pessach are celebrated more than we ever celebrated in israel.
christmas got also its small tradition. no, not a christmas tree.
a puzzle.

sometimes even two.

b. our good friend, couldn't leave us alone in the darkness, and started sending us before every christmas a puzzle.

and not just a puzzle. it is #wasgij puzzle!
for puzzle fans who look for challenges - just google it - wasgij.

anyway, each puzzle is about two or three days of pleasure. everything else is pushed to the sides. children, animals, dogs, eating or sleeping - are not important.

(ok, some of them did know to push themselves back to the center...)

we are quite systematic in the beginning. first the frame.

we always miss one or two pieces so we have to go through all the parts again, and only then  we start the rest of the puzzle. at this stage there is no system or rule anymore.

the only rule that should be kept is that none of us work alone more than the other... and the last parts are always made together.

we enjoy it so much, and i can't imagine a suitable tradition for the both of us.
i hope b. and wasgij would both keep their nice tradition!
